Osama Bin Ladin’s one time driver and bodyguard has just become the First terrorist suspect to go on trial at Guantanamo Bay. Salim Hamdan is also the first person the United States has tried for war crimes in the United States since World War II.
“He is the smallest fish in the shark tank,” former federal prosecutor, Kendall Coffey. “He is seen as a minor player, he didn’t fire weapons that we know of, and he certainly didn’t participate in any of the terrorist planning or direct any of the terrorist operations.”

Former U.S. Attorney Kendall Coffey says he isn’t likely to be removed from office just yet:
“He doesn’t have to step down from the Senate and I don’t think he’s going to. In fact, the only way you can be removed under the U.S. Constitution prior to the time your term expires is if the Senate itself removes him.”
